Andie MacDowell struts the streets in a chic casual dress, with her gorgeous silvery hair framing her makeup-free face


Andie MacDowell, a well-liked performer who debuted on screen in the 1980s and was formerly recognized for her unusual curling brown hair, is now promoting gray pride as a silver-haired starlet.

As she grew older gracefully, MacDowell remarked that she enjoys “comparing herself to George Clooney, because, why not?

Andie MacDowell, a 65-year-old natural beauty with nothing to conceal, is a senior citizen as of her birthday on April 21.

The southern belle made her acting debut in 1984’s Greystroke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes after beginning her modeling career with high-end labels like Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, and Calvin Klein. Because MacDowell’s drawl was too strong for the part of Jane in the Oscar-nominated movie, Glenn Close dubbed MacDowell’s voice instead.

When the amiable Brat Pack appeared in St. Elmo’s Fire as a supporting cast member, the soft-spoken, attractive actor stunned the crowd. The next year, she starred in Steven Soderbergh’s Sex, Lies & Videotape, for which she received her first Golden Globe nomination.

Her financial breakthrough, which was further raised following the comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral (1984) with Hugh Grant, may have begun with her leading part with Bill Murray in Groundhog Day (1983), a movie that has influenced popular culture for decades.

MacDowell, a well-known method performer, went on to play a variety of characters in movies like Harrison’s Flowers and the family TV series Cedar Cove.

It’s not surprise that MacDowell was chosen to appear in TV advertisements promoting L’Oréal hair products given her stunning brown hair. MacDowell confidently displays her make-up-free face, which is framed by her now gray-silver hair that was wrapped into a low bun. She was recently photographed in Cannes on a casual outing.

The star from Green Card, who was in the city for the 76th Cannes Film Festival, was showcasing her natural beauty in a relaxed white striped little dress that she wore with dark sunglasses and brown and black platform heels.

MacDowell earlier said that she embraced the coming of her gray locks during Covid. “At the very beginning of quarantine, my hair started growing and every time my kids would see me, they kept telling me I looked badass with my gray hair,” she said in an interview. “When I pulled it up in a bun, all you could see was the salt and pepper, which is what I am, you know, dark and silver. I like to compare myself to George Clooney because why not? I’ve been saying for a while now it was time for me, personally, to make that transition because I felt like it was appropriate for my personality and just who I am.”

She added that despite her bosses telling her that “it’s not time” to become gray, “I’m going to be more powerful if I embrace where I am right now. It’s time…If I don’t do it now, I won’t have the chance to be salt and pepper. I always wanted to be salt and pepper!”

McaDowell uploaded a picture of her Style magazine cover in 2022, showing off her gray hair and unprocessed appearance.She included a caption., “As we age, we deserve dignity and pride.” She continued, “We deserve to feel glorious! I’ve always said there’s no expiration date on beauty.”

Her acting career has no time limit as well.

Along with her 28-year-old daughter Margaret Qualley, whom she shared with her ex-husband Paul Qualley, MacDowell participated in the Netflix drama series Maid in 2021. Two additional children, son Justin and daughter Rainey, were born to MacDowell and Qualley, who were married in 1986 and divorced in 1999.

In an interview with USA Today, Margaret discussed working alongside her mother., “You walk in the room and you have your mom playing your mom–that’s the biggest cheat in the world. That goes all the way from the inherent eye rolls that are built-in when your mom says something.” The young actor continues, sharing how there’s a moment in Maid where her mother, playing Paula, tells her character, Alex “that she’s proud of her. It felt like my mom was telling me that she was proud of me, and it was just one of the coolest things that’s ever happened to me.” 

MacDowell, who co-starred with Michael Keaton in 1996’s Multiplicity, is presently filming the movie Goodrich, which also stars Mila Kunis, Kevin Pollak, and Michael Keaton. Hallie Meyers-Shyer, who like Margaret is one of many “nepo babies” of rising stars and starlets with extremely renowned parents, wrote and directed the movie.

Hallie, a child performer in several of her parents’ movies like What Women Want and Father of the Bride, is the daughter of Nancy Meyers (Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated) and Charles Shyer (Baby Boom).

Additionally, Kaia Gerber, whose mother is Cindy Crawford, is a well-known model who is dating Austin Butler, who plays Elvis in the upcoming biopic Elvis (2022), and Maya Hawke, a star of the popular Netflix series Stranger Things and the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke.

Dakota Johnson, the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, is well-known for the Fifty Shades of Grey series, while Colin Hanks, Tom Hank’s son, has made numerous film and television appearances. In the meantime, MacDowell expressed her hope for further chances to act alongside her daughter.

She said, “Every moment was precious for me. I really wanted to do a good job because it meant everything to me because I was scared it would never happen again.”
