Richard Gere has a grown-up son and the actor has passed on his infectious charm and handsome looks

Richard Gere, 74, just recently become a father once more. Richard and his wife, Alejandra Silva, 39, brought a son into the world in February 2019.

Their second son was born in April 2020, according to reports. Although the babies are the first children Gere and Silva have together, both of them already have kids from prior marriages.

This refers to Gere’s 22-year-old son, Homer James Jigme, whom he shares custody of with his ex-wife Care Lowell.

Admit it, you’re interested in seeing how this 22-year-old looks now. You won’t be disappointed because we have the solution, thank goodness. Following his performance in American Gigolo and his roles in classic films like Pretty Woman and An Officer and a Gentleman, Richard Gere solidified his status as Hollywood’s leading man.

Richard soon after met Cindy Crawford, a model and actress, who would become his first wife. The couple allegedly met at a BBQ, according to media sources.

“We talked, then we had a date, then we had another date,” Crawford said.

The couple quickly gained notoriety as one of Hollywood’s sexiest, and paparazzi followed them everywhere.

Gere and Crawford dined at the top restaurants in New York and Los Angeles in addition to appearing on red carpets and front covers. However, Gere was unsure if he would wed his younger partner.

However, the pair made the decision to fly to Las Vegas and tie the knot in December 1991. Only a small number of guests were invited to the chapel, so it was by no means a lavish wedding.

“It was the wedding I dreamed of. It was so last minute,” Crawford once said about the nuptials.

The couple filed for divorce four years later. Cindy Crawford has often argued that the age gap was excessive. When they first met, she was 22 and Richard was 39.

“I think I was more willing at 22 to be, like, ‘Okay, I’ll follow,’ but then you start going, ‘Well, I don’t want to just follow — I want to lead sometimes and I want to walk side by side sometimes,’” she admitted.

The pair divorced four years later. The age gap was too wide, according to Cindy Crawford, who has long maintained this. Richard was 39 and she was 22 when they first met.

Homer Gere, their first and only child, was born in February 2000. Gere had been reluctant to have kids while he was dating Crawford. Everything was unique when Carey Lowell was present.

“It was actually quite simple. I never had an issue about children one way or the other. With Carey, she had a child from a previous marriage, and it was just a natural thing, caring for this child, having our own child. It was totally spontaneous and right,” he told The Guardian in 2002.

Homer was born in New York City, and his parents gave him the Tibetan name Jigme in honour of Gere’s dedication to promoting human rights in Tibet.

The Pretty Woman actor explained to The Guardian how being a father may alter a man in the following way:

“The marginal stuff just doesn’t affect you any more when you weigh it against the real things in your life. All the cliches [about parenthood] are true. “

Homer ended up in the limelight quite early, as his parents were world-famous celebrities.

Much was reported about the family’s privacy when his mother and father parted ways in 2003. There were a lot of rumours and cheap barbs hurled about the divorce at times.

Homer’s parents were fighting over who would get custody of him, which brought him back into the spotlight.

Media reports claim that Carey Lowell enforced the strict requirements because she had given up working for several years. Lowell asserted that she was entitled to half of Gere’s salary since their 2002 marriage because she gave up her work to care for him and their son Homer.

Hannah Dunne, a half-sister of Homer James Jigme Gere, is the result of his mother Carey Lowell’s prior union with actor, producer, and director Thomas Gryphon Dunne. Then, when Richard Gere’s wife Alejandra Silva gave birth to a newborn boy in New York City the previous year, Homer welcomed his half-brother.

Homer prefers to keep a low profile, in contrast to his father. He is presently residing in New York. It appears that Richard has inherited his son’s good looks and contagious charisma from him.

But Homer prefers to keep a low profile, unlike his father. Nevertheless, despite his efforts to avoid the spotlight, Homer made a number of public appearances with both of his parents when he was younger.

For instance, Homer and his father have appeared together in the largest children’s film festival in Europe, the Giffoni Film Festival, which is held in the Italian town of Giffoni Valle Piana. Homer and his father are reportedly still quite close, and many people think the two bear a strong likeness.
