It’s been far from plain sailing of late where the world-famous Presley family is concerned.
Grief hasn’t even been the worst thing for Lisa Marie Presley’s loved ones to deal with since her awful, unexpected death on January 12, 2023.
There has been squabbling over the Presley properties and Lisa Marie’s bequest, and rumors suggest that Priscilla Presley and Riley Keough, Lisa Marie’s mother, are at odds.
However, Lisa Marie’s twin daughters, Finley and Harper Lockwood, received their middle school diplomas last week, which was cause for joy.
Soon after, a photo of the ladies with their respective red and blond hairstyles appeared on Instagram. Fans immediately saw that Priscilla and Riley had also joined them for the photo. But what many found surprising was how mature Finley and Harper now appear.
It was Priscilla who shared the photo to social media, along with the caption: “Happy Graduation girls! You’re now in high school!!!”
According to sources, Michael Lockwood, the twins’ father, was chosen as their legal guardian in April, three months after Lisa Marie passed away.
However, as already mentioned, the legal path forward following Lisa Marie’s passing was more challenging. Finding the trustee of her inheritance was a drawn-out procedure that was only finished last week.
Ultimately, Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley became the sole trusty, with Priscilla’s attorney sharing: “Everyone is happy, unified, together and excited for the future.”
Meanwhile, Priscilla tried to deny allegations of conflict between herself and Riley, her granddaughter, in a filing on June 13.
“My January 2023 petition was misconstrued in the press as a ‘fight’ over my beloved daughter’s trust,” she said at the time. “That was not the intent… My daughter’s passing was both devastating and heartbreaking. We have learned that the fans realize that we are ‘Just A Family.’”
She finished:”Elvis would be proud and his and Lisa’s wishes are what are most important to all of us. My granddaughter, through her counsel, along with my team worked diligently and tirelessly to resolve all misunderstandings as a family.”
Whatever the case, Finley and Harper’s graduation picture seems to indicate that any divisions among the Presley ranks are starting to mend. Let’s wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!
